Principal's Message

Welcome to Newport Heights Elementary School!

About Us

From our Shark P.R.I.D.E. to our individualized instruction through Multi-Tiered Systems & Supports and attention to students to our Shark Tank Technology Lad and everything in between, Newport Heights Elementary is an incredible place for our students to build friendships, show their creativity, stretch their minds and strengthen their skills, and start their foundations for positively impacting the community and beyond. Our focus is "Be Proud. Be Kind. Be You!"

Together we have celebrated accomplishments both big and small, all with the purpose of: Students Achieve Great Heights.  I couldn’t ask for a more talented team of teachers and staff, a more enthusiastic community, more engaged parent organizations, or a more spirited group of students, I am thrilled to partner with all of you as we lead our school towards many more great heights.

The role of principal is an important one as we work together to shape the future of our students, I am committed to Newport Heights Elementary being a student-centered, academically challenging, safe and healthy, and positive place for our sharks to live and learn each and every day.

My heart is happy as I continue to serve you and our students this year. We are fortunate to have an incredible community, parent organizations such as PTA, Foundation, ELAC, and more to partner with, and volunteers who support our mission for students. I look forward to connecting with all of this year!

About Me

Terri Clarke

Hailing from Northern California, I became a SoCal transplant while attending UCI for undergrad earning degrees in Theatre Arts & Dance. After working in Hollywood for a stint, my heart kept pulling me towards education, my true passion. I earned my teaching and administrative credentials plus Masters in Educational Leadership from CSU, Long Beach. I have been a teacher and administrator in NMUSD for going on 19 years and was proud to represent NMUSD as the district Elementary Teacher of the Year. I am also a proud NMUSD parent! Mr. Clarke and I have two elementary aged boys who love sports, Dude Perfect, and the beach. I love what I do, and there's no better place to do it! I firmly believe that parents/guardians and educators need to partner together for the success of students.
